Trash & Treasures – The Bad Seed

Funny as fuck but with a genuinely good child actor hamming it up.

You know how sometimes children are inherently evil because genetics and also Freud said so? The only thing a good mother can do is cover up her child’s crimes and then attempt a dramatic murder-suicide. But only after many, many monologues against a weird Greek pillar that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the decor.

The Bad Seed is a 1956 movie that directly adapts the 1954 play, with a few….interesting changes based on the demands of the Hays Code (and by interesting I mean AMAZING). You can watch the whole thing for free in the public domain, and we’d recommend it.

Also featuring a guest appearance by Dorothy’s enduring flame for Starsky & Hutch.
