Trash & Treasures – Velvet Goldmine

Hey, so Oscar Wilde was left by aliens. NBD.

This is definitely not a biopic about David Bowie. It may possibly be the screenwriter’s Bowie/Kurt Cobain fanfic.

Mostly, it’s about looking for yourself in media, standing on the outside and pressing your face to the glass. It’s a love letter to glitter and glam, and the defiance of being publicly queer in the 70s.

June is Pride Month, dear listeners. To celebrate, we’ll be bringing you not two but FOUR episodes this month, each an examination of a different way queerness in film has been handled. Some successfully, some….less so.

Join us every two weeks on Soundcloud, iTunes or Stitcher – and if you’d leave a rating and review, so that more people can find their way to us, we’d appreciate it!
